We, the students from the student organizations who organized the protests last months(from 19.12,14.01 until now) want to express our full support for our colleagues from Moldova. They have understood the truth about the reality that we,in Bulgaria and Moldova,live in a facade of democracy.
We oppose to the efforts of the political whirls created during the communism to direct “free and fair” elections with a well-predicted result;those oligarchy whirls work against the common interests and are able to perform all kinds of manipulations and falsifications, so they can hold their political power for twenty years now.
The police officials are supposed to serve for guarding people’s life, not to repress rights such as expressing a different opinion,organizing legal protests and opposing to the political lies.
We,the students,have the vocation to guard the foundations of every democratic society, to stop the political forces falsifying elections!
We warn that this summer in Bulgaria we would hold falsified elections for national and European parliament!

11-Feb-2009 – The National assembly is almost empty

On February 11 we officially invited all Members of Parliament to come out and show to their voters. Five MP showed up from the strictly secured Parliament by police and gendarmerie. Some of them confirmed that inside the building there are only 10 deputies…. from 240!
The ambitions of some MP which came out, to take control among the organizers of the protest, did NOT happened. That’s because we organize protest against ALL politicians from the last 20 years which brought Bulgaria to this condition.
The protest was successful because the party “bugs” showed that even all crisis in the country, they do NOT care what is happening, and what actions are necessary to overcome them. They doesn’t even come to work.

All these events shows that in Bulgaria there is no MP, there are only party representatives. One vote for all, but everyone organized steals for himself like for everybody. The counting continues next Wednesday ( 18.02 ). We want to see the presence of politicians in the Ministries and in the Presidency. Lets see what is the real number of politicians that our poor country needs. Today we saw that we need only from 5 deputies.

The deputies in Bulgaria are expressed as party not as Members of the Parliament. One vote for all, but everyone listen the only one “red and party cardinal”. Are these people deserves their big salaries, expensive cars, apartments, long missions and cheap food?

On February 11, Wednesday, we want to see that our elects and employees are in their workplace- the Parliament. We, people in the square, will decide what to do – to applause or to hiss them.

At that time we expect OUR CORRUPT GOVERNMENT TO DISHONOUR the Bulgarian people for the last time. The truth about CORRUPTION in Bulgaria, THE MAFIA, the infirmity of the judicial system, THE THEFT OF THE EU FUNDS, THE FECKLESSNESS OF THE ADMINISTRATION, THE FICTICIOUS EDUCATION will show up in the impartial assessment in the reports of the European commission.
“You are a disgrace – RESIGNATION, SEIZURE AND JAIL!”

The world economy is in heavy CRISIS. The insolent lies of the Bulgarian government that the crisis will not affect us are pitiable, fabricated attempts for misinformation. Yes, there is almost no honestly earned money and no honest business not to be affected by the real financial crisis because the huge capital on the market is earned by weapon trafficking, people trafficking and drug trafficking; a smaller amount of the money in Bulgaria comes from the numerous Bulgarian immigrants caring for their Homeland and their relatives who have left the country because of the impasse.

Those of us who are still here experience the slavery of corruption and mafia.
We suspect that once again – after the larceny of the pension funds, the financial pyramids and the produced bank bankrupt we will witness a fore coming big larceny of the money honestly earned by the Bulgarian people.
This will happen by the candle-wick of the mortgages lit by the political mafia and will lead to a new economical blast that will steal not only the money of the people but their estates and personal property.

ENOUGH OF THIS TRANSITION AND LARCENY; ENOUGH OF THIS FECKLESSNESS! It is time for a new REVIVAL of BULGARIA.
SROK-SOS together with other NGO’s is preparing the so-called “SROK” (“Strategia za Razvitie i Obshtestven Kontrol”) - a STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC CONTROL of Bulgaria based on the best practices in the world.
This is the only way for Bulgaria to escape the economic, social, moral and demographic bottom and to start climbing up the peaks of the economic models of the developed countries and of the real democratic societies.

FOR EUROPEAN DEMOCRACY IN BULGARIA – GOVERNMENT SERVES TO THE PEOPLE

After the beginning of the democratic changes in Bulgaria, twenty years ago, the political system is in a hopeless condition. Most of the Bulgarian people have no confidence in the current political system and refuse to have an active stance on what is happening in the Bulgarian society.

The main reason for the confirm of fake democracy in Bulgaria apparently should be looking at ways in which Bulgarian policy has done for years - against to the civil interests. Mainly in the political process are the interests of a narrow circle of people – often in outrage. Serious consequences of these trends are corruption, contact of political parties with criminal world, the imposing of oligarchy.
We want Bulgaria to be a full and integral part of United Europe, to live in a safety, democratic country with fair justice! We citizens and civic organizations insist for reforms in the Bulgarian political system and functioning of public authority.

We call and insist on the following major decisions:
1. Effective actions against corruption and organized crime. Publicity of the real property of all politicians and officials. Applying the European standarts in conducting of public orders.
2. Resume confidence between Brussels and Sofia through effective actions against the high level corruption. All ministers, politicians and officials which are guilty for suspending payments of the EU fixed capitals to take on a responsibility for that.
3. Public financing of political parties in accordance with the received votes in elections to ensure that they will be a real instrument of democracy, working for the citizens and their will.
4. Introducing major element in the electoral system. Possibility of early termination of the mandate of the National assembley with referendum.
5. Expending the forms of direct democracy through following things:
- relieve the requirments for convening and holding of referendum
- calling a referendum by the signatures of 5 percent of the eligible voting
- introducing of civil legislation by the signatures of 2.5 percent of the eligible voting
6. Citizen participation in the discussion and adoption of regulations. Mandatory consultation with their community and civil society who work in the area.
7. Ensuring freedom of information and pluralism in the media through coverage of developments in political life.
8. To be optimized public administration in Bulgaria, having significantly reduced its staff, guarantee of increasing its capacity. Significant increase in public sector salaries.
9. Real reforms, elimination of corruption and ensure independence. High level of competence and training of employees and magistrates in the law enforcement and institutions in Bulgaria.

Social processes in recent years led to the conclusion that at present days the only way to implement the necessary reforms is the pursuit of public pressure by civil society shares. Almost all other forms of influence will be easily neutralized by the corrupt, alienated and lost the confidence of the people political status quo. We need maximum activity and mobilization of civil action for all who do not accept the measures taken by the politicians in recent years. For those who want real democracy in Bulgaria and management service to the people!

Get awake from the Amnesia, Apathy and Indifference, dear friends!
What do we want? Check our list in the web site:
- We want to live in a normal, democratic European country with rule of law!
- We do not believe in the competence of this corrupt government, but despite this we demand it takes responsibility for the oppression and terror against its people.
- As citizens we want to participate in the governance of our homeland – via democratic elections, referendums, independent international observers and the best practices form developed democratic countries.
- We want our ‘governors’ to admit that despite its rich resources Bulgaria is still at the bottom of the social and economic development.
- We want to see in court all politicians and parties that have put their private interest above the common ones and have steal its people through bank leakage, state reserve, pension funds, EU funds and all organizations serving private corruption schemes.

We don’t want impossible things – we want to live in a democratic European country!
It has been 20 years since we are in a permanent crisis and incomplete transition. Clans of nationwide known criminals continue to govern our home country – that is ‘royal servants’, communists, democrats, pseudo-ethnic defenders and all other of the kind. Unfortunately they all have played in the same team – the team of the Corruption Champions, Human Rights Abusing, Insolence, bad ties, selfishness, political, social and economic incompetence. They are all in a coalition to defend their private and corporate interests and to further rob the nation.
These criminal oligarchic clans do not count for politics, economic development, national interest, education, nature, healthcare, humanism, moral … because their agenda is above all – above the law, above life, above health and prosperity of the nation!
Should we allow them live in affluence and luxury on the account of ourselves, our parents, our children, our future and our freedom?!

January 14 2009 is a shameful day for the European Union and the international community, because it revealed the real face of these criminals, of this totalitarian, reforms refusing government! There, at the Square, on the streets of Sofia, in the parks, the Power stood up against the discontent of the young and crushed the flowers of Bulgaria with blood, mud and cold. However this attempt to keep the status quo by terror will not remain without consequences.

On January 14 2009, from the blood and mud grew up the first strong marks of the CIVIL SOCIETY of Bulgaria.

14 January 2009 - National Protest

For the past years we the students and citizens, young and old, live at the bottom, we live in a land of mafia, lawlessness and amnesia. We live in a country where the personal interests of the oligarchy political class are superior over the social interests, legality, life and people’s dignity.

But enough already!
We won’t be slaves to our statesmen, nor yet they will be our masters – they are our servants who we pay to work for us, and who’s supposed to be controlled and changed by us. We will express our right to control ON THE STREET. Due to the absence of political ethics for dignified bearing and assuming responsibility, due to the absence of govern qualities Bulgaria could not get out of the current economic, ethic and political crisis hanging over us for the past 20 years!
There is no excuse for the failure of the Bulgarian pseudo–statesmen – provided with capable people, ancient traditions, beautiful and fruitful land.

On 14.01.2009 we start series of protests because:

- We are people with ancient history and cradle of European civilization, we are not a third world country;
- We won’t undergo the lawless killing of our colleagues, friends and children, we won’t live in fear;
- We had enough of being the generation of “500 lv”; we live in the poorest and most corrupted country in Europe for years, in which even after 2 years membership in EU none of the European good practices has been acquired;
- We want to live, to educate and develop not abroad but in our own country;
- We want our children to have future in Bulgaria.
- Enough misery! Enough corruption – we want renewal, we want chance, we want a normal life!
The political system in Bulgaria is unproductive and generates corruption. We insist on changing the system not only the representing faces. We insist on transparent government and direct civil control. People must participate when the most important decisions about the country are made.
We call up for people’s alliance.
We appeal to all our colleagues, students all over the country to take part in the protests in Sofia or to organize local processions, meetings in front of the town councils and city halls so we can say together - ENOUGH!
We invite all displeased citizens of Bulgaria to unite and oppose the misery, mafia and corruption.
- Go out with us on 14.01.2009 at 10 o’clock. We traditionally gather in front of the “Hristo Botev” hall in the stolen Student’s city from us, and it ends with a meeting in front of the National Assembly where “Unity leads to power”. There we unite with all the citizens who have compassion upon our corrupted mother country.

Summary of former actions: On 12.12.2008 and 19.12.2008 we organized two national protests in which thousands of young people and citizens took part.
Pseudo – state institutions impudently refused a dialog with us and tried skillfully to escape from the fulfillment of our just demands. Moreover on 19.12.2008 the governors disgracefully ran from their people, impertinently rewarding themselves with additional 13th “Christmas” salary …!

The student carnality against the ficticious political system

Today, 19.12.08 Friday - more than 2000 students traveled the distance between the city of Students and the National Assembly.
The huge procession blocked traffic across the capital..
Our representatives delivered a declaration request to the cowards of so-called "Peoples' Assembly.
Indeed, our politicians had left the assembly in fear. Post was left only by Georgi Pirinski.
After some meaningless conversation with even more useless incompetent government authorities, arrangements were made to participate in some fictitious work groups.
Indeed, these "working groups" are composed of the main culprits for the status of student towns – corrupt municipal structures and placed „ student representatives” of Comsomol internal structures .

We argued that we WANT ACTION, NOT EMPTY TALKING
!

NOT to the cowards which can`t look in eyes the nation, a day after they took 13`th salary!

The atmosphere around the National Assembly was down together and cohesive.
" Unity makes strength "- all protesters - students, ecologists, farmers united in their requests and the desire NOT to live in the most poor and corrupt country in Europe.

All this shows one thing - Bulgaria need complete renovation

We are realists, we do not want Unable THINGS

We all tired the problems in our country to be skipped. We want the governments to take responsibility for the tragedies happening in the community. The young people wants, not to be the generation of 500lv, and not to live in poorness and misery.

On 19.12.2008 by 11.00h. Hristo Botev Hall. Action Group of students and civic groups organized a protest procession from Students` Town to the National Assembly, where will be conducted meeting protest. To the governments will be given all requests all requests through the following DECLARATION

Due to lack of dialogue from the responsible institutions with the representation of the Bulgarian students, we proceed to these actions with a clear idea of the problems that we want to be solved.
We call on all students, all citizens, all intellectuals, committed to our issues and problems of our society to support us in our endeavor.

Our Initiative group is jointly with the demands of the coalition " For the Nature in Bulgaria
", who joined us and our demands.

Boy killed in battle in Students` Town

On 04.12.2009 a boy was killed in battle in Students` Town in front of club Amnezia. SROKSOS repeatedly warned state and municipal authorities of the existence of prerequisites for such incidents . Reports, tenders, applications, complaints were filed signatures to Parliament, the Council of Ministers, Presidency, Ministry of Education, Municipality. These institutions have not taken and minimum measures to prevent such incidents. Since its founding SROKSOS asks for a moratorium on opening new restaurants and entertainments available in the reduction of Students` Town - facilities that generate noise and create many conflict situations.
The reason for this tragic incident is just a new disco club in the “ex”-student township.
Students` Town is an ex student township, because at the moment is converted into "Las Vegas" of Bulgaria - the center of criminal business interests, state, municipal and university disinterestedness.
Despite the huge investment flows, income from fees, rents, licenses and other revenues, inadequate administration for years refused to put any lighting in Students` Town.
Gardens, parks, spaces around the blocks wallow in darkness and terrain suitable for violence, robbery, rape, attacks of stray dogs.
Students` Town is a dangerous place to live and this incident is not isolated case of violence and death.
Most cases are passed over silience because of the normative chaos, business interests, academic autonomy and errandness journalism.
The response of the public services is in very inadequate level - the incident became near police station, an ambulance arrived with great delay.All institutions are made of surprise although battles and violence in front of the disco clubs is something usual. Even passing nearby citizens (students) are so accustomed to similar situations that do not react in time and did not alert the police immediately.
This death raises the following question - after claims that students need to have Happy, why facilities are full of "operational interesting” people, and parks, gardens, sidewalks are blocked by expensive cars with registration of Sofia – that is to say, that the contingent in these “students pubs” has nothing to do with the young people placed in the Students` town. Students need a peaceful and secure environment rather than loud music institutions.
Court and Prosecutor's Office also responded in a way typical of them - complete lack of ethics and professionalism.
Again – released killers on 500lv. warranty.
The errandness journalism in Bulgaria skillfully manipulated public opinion.
There was no drunken fray and fights between gangs (media releases). Three students were beaten by three enormous bigger group that is hidden from society.
The media tries to represent the Bulgarian students as alcoholics and people second quality, and that what happens to them is normal. The unfair journalism, however, confused in their arguments – Reports are shown that in Students` Town there are school children, congestion gardens of expensive cars with registration of Sofia.
The truth is that the students are minority in these entertainments because of people in no way associated with universities and training. All media reported for the killed pharmacy student and his fellow students, but they hardly passed the information if the killers have anything to do with student education.

Thousands of colleagues have expressed sympathy to the tragedy of Stoyan, the battle continues!

SROKSOS, together with other NGOs and movements organized the largest spontaneous and free of politicial parties student protest against the government, for the development and life of educated young people.
Our protest was against:

- Corrupt and insensitive to the lives of students judiciary;

- The dirty place that became Students` Town, thanks to politicians and the “mugs”.
